How much is appropriate to spend on a baby shower registry?

Q. She is having baby end of July and she made baby shower registry at Toys R Us. There are a lot of items ranging from inexpensive to expensive. My DILEMMA: How much should one spend on a baby shower registry????
BTW, the woman having the baby is my brother's WIFE.

A. Between 20 and 50 dollars is fine.

What do you think of having a registry for your child's birthday?
Q. I am creating a wish list for my daughters 3rd birthday at Toys r Us. Just wondering if this is a common thing now since I only thought registry's were for weddings and baby showers.

What do you think?

A. "I only thought registry's were for weddings and baby showers."
You thought right. Registries or "wish lists" for birthdays are extremely tacky and not something that people usually do.

Do Toys R Us and Babies R Us have separate baby registries, or do they combine them?
Q. In my city the Babies R Us and Toys R Us are separate. I'm registered at BRU but was wondering if I went to TRU if I had to create a new registry or if the items I wanted would go onto the BRU registry.

Thanks for your reply!

A. It should be on the same registry.
If you go online there are baby items at Toys R Us and if you register for them they go onto your registry. I am pretty sure it is all one registry whether it be from Babies R Us or Toys R Us.

Toys R Us (Canada) registry coupons... can you use more than one at a time?
Q. I have toys r us registry coupons, $5 off if you spend $50. If I bought a bigger ticket item, worth say $200, could I use 4 of these coupons to get $20 off the purchase price?

It says nothing on the coupon itself about not being able to combine...

A. As long as they don't have the same SKU# you can use them all at once.
