Do you have to buy the wii in a bundle?

Q. If you wanna buy the wii do you have to buy it in a bundle? Because when I called a bunch of places they said A) They are are out of stock of the wii and B) they only sell it in a bundle which is like $500-800

I don't want to buy it in a bundle since it's pretty expensive. And also does anyone know where you have get just the wii?

And also if I traded in my gamecube for a $130 giftcare and bought a seperate $120 giftcard could I buy the wii at gamestop?

A. Stores like wall-mart and toys-r-us are taking advantage of the demand for wii and trying to rip off children and fans. My son wanted to buy wii for last Christmas holidays but we were not able to get one (even after spending several hours in queues, my son tried several months calling each and every store we can reach). I am surprised to see how wii is marked, there is so much technology out there why cant the stores sell wii in advance or give priority reservation on internet (by limiting quantities using id etc).

You can notice that Majority of wii are ending up in eBay bidding for more price. My recommendation is not to buy wii and please write to FTC about these greedy corporations trying to bundle up game consoles by adding non relevant (unsuitably rated) games. Wait for some time, PS2 or even Microsoft will come up with better systems with both Graphics and motion sense features.

Ideas for things to make with a nearly 2 year old?
Q. Hi my daughter is nearly two. We paint, draw and colour. I have cut out pictures for us to stick to paper. We have done potato paint stamp too.
Can anyone suggest anything else we can make together please?
Thanks!

A. Here is my suggestions for a simple toddler craft. I have experience! I have 6 children! All of my kids could spend hours doing "crafts" with me. Buy washable markers (go cheap, because they often leave the tops off) Let them color popsicle sticks. You can glue them into a square and put a picture in them, cut out of a magazine, or a photograph. Tie a string on two sides to hang it like a picture. A favorite of my kids 6 down to 1 1/2 yrs. old let them color with a marker on a sheet of paper towel. Paper towels have different, fun prints nowadays. You can even get holiday themes. You probably have a roll on hand. The markers give a soft, watercolor look on the paper towels. Markers color easily, with just a touch for the littlest ones, and the older ones can make designs my marking along the raised texture of the towels. They will get a kick making it look like a quilt. Try it!

Toddler Crafting Macaroni!

Macaroni necklaces, bracelets, anklets. Put straight macaroni in a jar, drop in a few drops of food coloring and shake gently until you get the desired color. You may need to add more food coloring and keep shaking. Make several different colors. Spread on newspaper or papertowels to dry. Put each color into an old butter tub or other plastic container with a lid. Again, provide child with shoestring or yarn with end taped and let her/him make necklaces. This is also a good way to teach sorting and order after a while. In the beginning let him/her string whatever appeals, later you might suggest a pattern.

Web Craft Resource

Please check out theideabox.com. This is the most awesome site I have found for crafts. Not only do they give ages and tools required on each kids craft, but also offer a "craft of the day" and the complete archives are available. I am a homeschooling Mom and use this site a great deal for ideas for my 3 crafters!

Sock Puppets

When my daughter was young she loved to do the same thing as I did (oh, how times have changed now that she is a teenager!). To occupy her while I sewed I gave her a couple of old wool socks, a selection of large buttons (too large to swallow), a plastic needle (purchased in the toy dept) threaded with a length of colorful yarn. As she became more able to work with small articles we added felt pieces too. She turned out many, many puppets and had the benefit of playing with them and giving them to friends as gifts. When she started school the teacher was amazed at her hand co-ordination. And today, she does her own mending! Big bonus!

Shrinky Dinks

Take the Styrofoam meat trays cut (big) shapes (smiley faces, Christmas trees, etc.) , color with markers (poke hole if you want to hang anywhere) and put into micro-wave for a few seconds. Voila! Shrinky dinks! Simple and inexpensive crafts for a young child!

Is Toys R Us open on Christmas Day?
Q. I need to do last minute shopping. I was wondering if Toys R Us was open on Christmas day. I was looking at business hours but it said nothing about holidays. Please help.
If the store itself isn't open, is shipping still available? Would it still come in the business days that it requires or longer because of Christmas?

A. I noticed that just the Toys R Us Express shops are open. Not the big stores. Shipping is still available and would come the time that specified.

What are the best things to do in Manhattan ?
Q. I'm going to New york and want to make the most out of my holiday

A. Hi! I suggest the following:

- See High Line Park -- an elevated Park in the Meatpacking District. They also put on free guided walking tours every Saturday.
- Go to the Top of the Rockefeller Center (Top of the Rock) rather than the top of the Empire State. The views are better & the lines are shorter. You can wait up to 3+ hours in the line to get to the top of the Empire, and when you get to the top, the Rockefeller Center blocks the views of Central Park.
- Take a (free) self-guided tour of the New York Public Library. This is where the Sex & the City movie was filmed. Then sit outside at Bryant Park after wards.
- Take a tour of the Brooklyn Brewery - it's free and lots of fun
- Spend a day at FAO Schwartz on Central Park South or Toys R Us in Times square - these two toy stores are HUGE
- Go to the Rose Center for Earth & Space for a show in 3D
- Take a free walking tour: The Village Alliance, http://www.villagealliance.org/ offers free walking tours of Greenwich Village and the Central Park Conservancy http://www.centralparknyc.org/visit/tours/guided-tours/ offers free walking tours of Central Park. You can also take a free tour of the Federal Reserve Bank, which is actually pretty cool
- Go to the Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden in Astoria, Queens - this is the oldest Beer Garden in NYC (100 years old!) It's a pretty easy subway ride from Manhattan. Just take the N or Q trains to Astoria Boulevard. Check out HopStop.com for subway directions. It's like Map Quest for Public Transport.
- Ride the Staten Island Ferry, it's free and lots of fun. You also get great views of the Statue of Liberty.
- Go to Calle Ocho on the Upper West Side for Sunday Brunch (they have unlimited sangria w/purchase of entree).
- Get a burger at Shake Shack (a Danny Meyer burger joint) in Madison Square, hands down NYC's best burger place. The lines tend to be long, but it's definitely worth the wait!
- Sit in the lobby of the Waldorf Astoria and bring a coffee. The couches are really comfy and the lobby is spectacular.
- Get a cupcake at Magnolia Bakery
- See Dylan's Candy Store -- opened by Bob Dylan's daughter
- Go to one of NYC's best Rooftop Bars for some awesome views: http://dguides.com/newyorkcity/features/top-10-rooftop-bars/
- Go to the NY Skyride, its the only virtual aerial simulator in NYC
- Take a double decker sightseeing tour of NYC - I know this is kind of cliche, but it's lots of fun
- Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, views are amazing
- Go to Canal Street in Chinatown -- This is where you can find "designer" handbags for $40.

Have fun!
