Do companies care when a job applicant returns an item?

Q. I just purchased a case for my iPod Touch at a Toys R US store, but I want to return the item because I don't like the design of it.

However, I also want to apply for a job at this store.

Will returning the item at the same location that I want to work at hurt my chances of getting hired?

A. When you go in to apply for a job you want the workers there to see you as a co-worker. You don't' want to be in their mind as a customer, especially one that sees a default in one of their products. I think that its worth the drive to go a town over and return the product to a different Toys r us.

How long is closing cleanup at toys r us?

Q. I just applied at Toys R Us. I was just wondering if anyone knew normally how long closing cleanup is at the end of the night. I know that they close the store at 9 Monday-Saturday and 7 on Sunday, but how long does it take until you actually leave the store. Also, does anyone know what time the store is normally open until for holiday hours?

A. I have worked at TRU since June of 2006 and the best answer i can give regarding closing cleanup is that it totally depends on which manager is closing. Some managers will keep you as late as 945 or 10 oclock but others dont stay past 915. However i would say the average time it takes would be about 30 minutes past closing. And about the holiday hours around late november the store stays open til 10 for about 2 weeks then early december it goes to 12 up until christmas. Hope this answers your questions.

Q. I'm going on holiday to Aberystwyth and I want to get to a Toys R Us. Does anyone know if there is a Toys R Us near to Aberystwyth or if there is one on the way from Hereford to Aberystwyth.

I have a lighted Barbie display case used in stores by Mattel. How do I find out how much its worth?

Q. This case is white, metal I believe with a glass front. Barbie is written on it in the traditional pink lettering. It plugs in and has a working light and also locks. It was used in Wal Mart and Toys R Us stores by Mattel to display collection edition Barbies.

A. In all honesty, they aren't worth much. There is someone who has been trying to sell those on kijiji.com for about 3 years, with no luck. They are selling 2 for $300.00, which is a damn good price, but the problem is that as a Barbie collector, if I am going to buy shelving, I will need something that will display up to 65 dolls at once, and those cases only hold about 5-10 tops. You might be better off selling them via a secondary market at a Barbie retailer.
