Q. I want to go into business for myself. My mom wants me to become either a doctor or a lawyer, but those careers are not for me. I am a financial whiz and I've been a cashier at several stores, Toys R us for now. I have great customer service skills and I have artistic skills. I can sit down for hours editing a single picture, so I know I have patience. Would it be wise to go for what I want or go for what my parents want me to become? I mean they are paying for my college education. Owning a business is stressful I'm sure, but going to college during this recession and graduating after its over and opening my business for the first time would be the happiest day of my life.
A. Hey the same with my parents! They are paying for your college education which probably makes you feel guilty but at the end of the day its going to be you who is going to wake up and go fight cases as a lawyer, or give operations as a doctor and your parents wont be there so you should sit with your parents explain to them how you feel and think of another job that both you and your parents are happy with. Dont let your parents always make desicions for you....
