If someone looses a gift card and you find it does it belong to you if no one reports it missing?

Q. I found a Toys R Us gift card. I reported it to Toys R Us in case someone reports it missing. Toys R Us put a freeze on the card. If no one reports it missing that money should not belong to Toys R Us. I had planed on donating it to charrity for Christmas. I don't think that Toys R Us should be allowed to keep it or donate it and claim it on their taxes. It doesn't belong to them.

A. Technically, in order for you to be able to claim the property (whether you use it yourself or donate it), you must make a good-faith effort to find the owner. That usually means placing an ad in the paper for a certain period of time (two weeks where I am). If nobody claims it; it's yours. In this case, it probably isn't worth it to advertise because of the costs.

Who would believe a toy heist would land you in prison?
Q. $2 million in toys stolen from Toys R Us in just about most states. Wow, they made more money than if they were hawking home grown grass!
Well Carol.....many thieves get their hands slapped and go to court for a fine. They could have pleaded they were kleptos and got off altogether!

Your question is interesting. I think people are getting a warped sense of what is legal and illegal and what they can get away with and what not. I know someone who went along fine then in the past year was in an accident and got 3 tickets. I told this person he could lose his license if he just kept going along and not paying attention. He got mad at me for telling him this.

I know someone else who picks up things if they are just sitting somewhere. I told this person that I was raised to not touch anything if it wasn't mine. They don't understand this. Have we lost our connection with reality?

Even if the law isn't working as in what happened in the OJ Simpson case when he got away with murder karmic law always works. He ended up in prision anyway.

Yes, it sounds funny to think a toy theif could land one in prison but this was huge and I like that I was raised not to steal a penny. I think people turn on programs like Fox news & the subliminals are turning them into robots. I think all the ads are making people sick and many programs are filled with messages that have people heading straight to their doctor for medication & the meds have stuff in them that make a person a klepto or an addict of some kind or even a murderer.

People need to really watch the input they are getting from the tv & radio.

What is the real downside to Walmart?
Q. There are all these ads on TV and the radio right now conerning the amount of unsafe products and food sold at Walmart. But they seem a tad one sided. I am not by any means a Walmart fan. I avoid going into one of their stores as much as I can, but it seems to me that they carry the same food products as any other grocer, and their toys - a big target in the ads - are the same as those sold at Target, Kmart, Toys R Us, and many others. What am I missing?

A. i really dont like walmart..
i dont know why..
but stuff there is cheaper..
im buying an 80 GB Zune from there for $11 cheaper than at any other store -$139

I am wondering what i have to do to get all the different holiday toy catalogs and ads and coupons from stores?
Q. like target, walmart, toys r us, etc. My mom gets big toy books and stuff around the holidays and I dont. Im just wondering how to get them?

A. Walk in the stores and sign up for their catalogs. Toys R Us and other stores like it will help you inside.
