Q. Years ago they used to have these plastic orange cars with yellow roofs, kind of like a toy VW beetle, that children would "drive" and it had a little horn that beeped. The only time I've seen them now is in grocery stores built into carts. What company makes that and are they still for sale? If so, where can I buy one? (I'm guessing Toys r Us or Amazon but couldn't find them when I searched!)

How to come up with a great sales pitch for a kid's toy?
Q. Tomorrow I'm going in for a group interview at Toys R Us. I've been doing a bit of research of what kinds of questions they'll ask during the interview. One thing they might potentially do is set you up in a group & tell you to sell a toy to the class. I want to be prepared as possible so what would be a great sales pitch, let's say for a toy plane?
A. Well. Younger children tend to not care about materials. If you can, throw numbers at them like "Maintains a charge for up to 2 hours!" Or something along those lines. Also if you move from fact to fact too quickly the kids will feel.... how do I say it.... intimidated? One, final thing. The older the children, the more advanced vocabulary. A 12 year old doesn't want to be talked to like a 6 year old. Get what I'm saying?
How much do these stores pay in Alaska?
Q. I was wondering how much you would get paid an hour as either a sales associate or cashier in Sears, Wal-mart, Target or Toys R Us in Alaska with 1 year retail/cashier experience? Thanks in advance.
A. It seems no one on here has ever heard of Google. Is it a college grad thing or what?

Are retailers just giving up on the PS3 this holiday season?
Q. Did anyone else notice in the Sunday paper that all the sales adds did not mention anything about PS3? All of them...Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Toys R Us, even Kmart. These sales adds had Xbox 360, Wii, PS2 (surprising) and PSP, but not one of them even mentioned that the PS3 existed. What do you think this means? Is the PS3 dead? Are all retailers tired of promoting a system that is not selling? What is your opinion?
A. No it means they have ordered enough of those consoles to get the rebates from the manufacturer Example: if the retailer orders 1000 xbox 360's the retailer recieves them at a very reduced cost as long as the store heavily promotes the 360 and games which the retailer may or may not choose to pass the savings on to the customer ( Microsoft has been doing this promotion to retailers since last December) . THey will try to sell them at suggested retail price until it gets really close to Christmas then they will offer huge rebates or in store gift cards or extra controllers etc.... Also the stores sell extended 2 year warranties which they make alot of money on so the 360 will get pushed as much as possible because people are more apt to buy the extended for the that system (high failure rate) then the more reliable ps3. The Wii is for kids so people will buy the extended for that, and the ps2 is very affordable and easy to sell to grandma and grandpa who may not know the difference between buying the ps3 or ps2 for their grandchild.
